How TGFind finds, checks, and ranks Telegram listings

TGFind is a directory of public Telegram channels, groups, and bots. This page explains where the listings come from and what each number on the site means, so you can judge how far to trust it.

Where listings come from

Listings are public t.me usernames found on public web pages, plus listings people submit. Each listing records the pages it was found on; those links are discovery sources, not endorsements, and a source page may change after we saw it.

Private chats and invite-only links are never listed. A listing exists only if Telegram shows a public preview page for it.

How member counts are checked

Member and subscriber counts are read from Telegram's public preview page for each listing. A recheck runs every day in tiers: larger and fast-moving listings are checked more often, the rest on a rotating schedule. Each listing shows the date of its last check.

Every check is stored as a dated observation. The member history on a listing shows those observations, nothing estimated in between. A count says how many members Telegram reported on that day. It does not measure posting activity, and members may be inactive or bought.

Rankings

“Most members” orders listings by their latest checked count. “Fastest growing” is the member change between a listing's first and latest observation in the last 30 days, at least seven days apart, for listings with 500 or more members.

Rankings include only low-risk listings with a public username that were checked in the last 30 days. Adult, gambling, and gore listings are excluded. Paid placements never change rankings, member counts, or the order of organic results.

Overviews

Some listings carry a short overview. It is written by an AI model (Google Gemini) from the directory's own records: the listing's description, topics, sources, and dated member counts. Automated checks reject overviews that call a listing official, verified, safe, or active, or that add links. No one reviews each overview by hand, and each one shows the date it was written.

What search engines see

Every listing can be browsed, but a listing page is offered to search engines only when it has a topic, a discovery source, a description of at least 150 characters, two member checks at least a day apart, and either 1,000 or more members or an overview. Adult, gambling, and gore listings are never offered to search engines.

A listing's page is published in the interface language that matches the listing's own language (for example, Russian channels under /ru/). Other language versions point to that page.

Reports, removals, and contact

Every listing has a Report link for wrong information, unsafe content, or removal requests from the owner. New public channels, groups, and bots can be added through Submit. You can also reach us through the Telegram bot @TgxFindBot.
