竜巻（たつまき、英語、ドイツ語、スペイン語：Tornado）は、積乱雲の下で地上から雲へと細長く延びる高速な渦巻き状の上昇気流。トルネードとも呼ばれる。ハリケーンや台風と混同されやすいが、それらとは全く異なる。 850ヘクトパスカルを記録した竜巻通過時の気圧変化。わずか数十秒間で100ヘクトパスカルもの急激な低下が起こり、すぐに元に戻った。アメリカ サウスダコタ州 マンチェスター、2003年6月24日（PD US NOAA） 突風の一種で、規模が小さく寿命が短い割に、猛烈な風を伴うのが特徴。
